Not sure if this is the right place to put this so mods please move if appropriate.
This is just a message to let people know to be very careful if using the viewing area in Sheldon country park as yesterday I was violently mugged at knifepoint.
I don’t want this to happen to anyone else so...
Heard something rather interesting about BHX in my lecture at university today, my lecturer used to work in management and ops there and he said that when VS initially bought the A346 they approached BHX and asked about it being a diversion from LHR, but the airport had to turn them down as at...
Some fantastic photos and excellent variety there, did I see a Metroliner in one of those shots, haven’t seen one of those for years.
All this is making me more excited for moving down to university, I’d never get to spot most of those aircraft at LBA in a month of Sunday’s.(y)
Hopefully eurowings actually start flights this time, if I remember correctly they were rumoured a few years ago after they applied for some slots from LBA-MUC I think, but it turned out they were placeholder slots, let’s hope this attempt goes further
Looks like primera are at it again, subbing some STN flights for a 737-800, which can’t go direct without a severe weight Penalty, what an absolute sham this airline is:LOL::LOL:
Hopefully it’s true, losing AA may have been a blow to airport but I’d much rather fly SQ to the US, to be fair, I’d rather fly Jet2 to the US (I know they don’t do it scheduled) than any of the so called US majors, second tier rubbish in my experience.
Oh I certainly hope so, they are my favourite airline, used SQ51,52 this summer and as my mother was born in Singapore more frequencies there would be fantastic, I assume this is in addition to SIN-MAN-IAH.
Ok, will do, the Bulleid refers to the designer, Oliver Vaughn Snell Bulleid,(try saying that after a few beers:LOL:) usually abbreviated to OVS Bulleid. His Pacific’s were an interesting design, the original was fairly outlandish and many were conventionally rebuilt. ‘Pacific’ refers to the...
Indeed, have done the Severn valley once before, it was great, they had double Bulleid Pacific’s taking the trains, 34027 ‘Taw Valley’ and 34053 ‘Sir Keith park’. Was a good day and will probably do it again, just a bit harder to get to from the uni, as I believe BHX is a bus/train direct from...
I was going for Wizz Air. surely the OP can’t mean Flybe given their current situation, I’m happy to be proven wrong though.
Oh,and HK Express are also an LCC with a purple livery, but its 100% not them as they are based in SE Asia with A320s.
Hmmm.. is that some sort of cryptic reference to a certain Eastern European LCC expanding?
Or maybe a certain UK regional carrier? (Though I doubt this given their current financial state)
Thinking about it, you are probably right, EZ have just expanded at MAN and in Europe, MXP had some new announcements I think, was being too optimistic, got ahead of myself, apologies.
Hmm, sounds like good news for those with token easyjet presences then, a la BHX :)
(Also good for those who’ve just lost their token EZ presence...Cough...LBA...Cough)
Sorry, old allegiances:sneaky:
Bagington, that’s now called Coventry airport right? I had a look at that, I will certainly have to visit as I believe that’s where the midland air museum is, if I recall, they have some of my favourite planes, including a De Havilland vampire and an Argosy, it’s on my list of things to do :)...
Thank you very much for the very comprehensive reply, I will have to try out all three spots when I get the time.
I have been looking on FR24 at the current timetables, but I am unsure of how much the services are reduced in winter, so I would also like to ask when the best time of day to go in...
