Leeds Bradford: General Airport Discussion & Updates

Agreed, get a new application in quick, they can sit on it like they did the current expansion

Other way around. 3a 200m, 3b 75m. Not just company and crew but aircraft fit. Most are 3a due to the costs of 3b for the number of times it’s actually needed

Leeds Bradford: General Airport Discussion & Updates

Yep, get that application (which includes amendments to night time hours remember) back in now whilst there’s a sympathetic central government. Never thought I’d say that about our current shower! Then sit on the approval like they did the current extension.

Leeds Bradford: Jet2 Flights, New Routes & Base Updates

So I’ve had a look at the booking engine and using the Monday IBZ as an example I suggest that flight is not LBA aircraft. Out - LBA 06:35 IBZ 10:25 Return - IBZ 11:20 LBA 13:15 (or) IBZ 13:40 LTN 15:30 Out - LTN 16:20 IBZ 19:55 (or) LBA 16:20 IBZ 20:10 Return - IBZ 20:25 LBA 22:50 Whilst...

Leeds Bradford: Jet2 Flights, New Routes & Base Updates

Sorry, have I missed something here. Where has it been announced it will be an LBA based aircraft and crew operating the LTN W patterns? Or is it just an assumption based on the announcement that there will be 15 based aircraft (2+2=5?)

Leeds Bradford: Airport seeks legal clarification on night flying

These people are NIMBYS, end of. My outlaws live off Scotland lane. We stayed with them recently, admittedly the first 2 nights I noticed the aircraft. But Trust me, by night 3 your subconscious blocks the noise, I genuinely didn’t hear them. At the end of the day these people will complain...

Leeds Bradford: Aer Lingus Flight Status, Hub News & Discussion

An example of why until they improve their reliability at LBA I cannot use them to transit to long haul. It’s sad really as they’re one of only 2 options to transit to long haul from LBA

Leeds Bradford: General Airport Discussion & Updates

Never trust a politician of any ilk let alone a Red one. Ultimately, sadly, she’s a NIMBY however I’d love her to prove me wrong!

Leeds Bradford: Weather & Technical Diversions, Delays & Cancellations

Different companies use different performance tools and companies can increase their safety margins if they see fit. If ATC or the ATIS report ‘heavy rain’ that’s what must be used for performance calculations, even just a shower, if it’s present at the time and the aircraft is close to div fuel...

Leeds Bradford: Weather & Technical Diversions, Delays & Cancellations

If Heavy Rain is reported the landing performance calculations must be made using a very restrictive Braking Action (Medium/Poor) this leaves the 737 unable to land.

Leeds Bradford: Aer Lingus Flight Status, Hub News & Discussion

Speaking of Aer Lingus ATR diversion rate, this mornings DUB diverted to LPL. Sadly, exactly the reason I won’t transit via DUB out of LBA until the route is serviced by Cat3 capable machines. Too much risk of missing your connection

Leeds Bradford: £100m Regeneration Programme REGEN

Leeds Bradford: Runways, Aprons and Taxiways

Perhaps an engineer could confirm this but I understood concrete and asphalt expand at different rates and therefore overlaying concrete with tarmac would lead to break up. Which would mean breaking up the current surface to use as hardcore would be the correct course of action. Would like to...
