    Birmingham Airport - Picture Thread

Love this shot. Where did you take these from please, I don't know Birmingham at all, but might be a nice alternative to Manchester with the degredation of viewing facilities there.

    Manchester Airport - General Thread

Hi all, Got a rare few hours in the Manchester region tomorrow and planning to stop off at the viewing park. Are there any interesting movements planned for tomorrow - what are the busiest times for normal operations? Thanks.

Archive Spotting Movements Log & Heads Up

I was at the airport on Monday, just curious, did anyone catch the reason for G-EZUA having to make a very late go-around at 10.20?

    Turkish Airlines

Ah well, extra early flight from Heathrow with Austrian it is. Glad I hadn't booked it already.

    Turkish Airlines

Nuts, I was planning to use that late night flight to connect to Erbil. Do any other UK airports still have a late night, very early morning Turkish Airlines flight for end of March?

    KLM

I wouldn't mind a late night departure to AMS on the return from the evening AMS to LBA flight. I avoid using the morning flight to connect to long hauls from Schiphol because of experience getting horribly delayed at security going across the airport between flights, but if I could get a...

    Road, Rail & Access Issues

Would be nice to have some bike routes in the area - I would consider riding into work, but not along the death trap roads in the Keighley to Bradford/Leeds areas. Buses in the area have lost traffic IMHO because they are seriously behind the times. Certainly on Keighley & District time keeping...

    TUI Airways

Surprisingly, despite everything and their immediate proximity to Syria, Turkey is still considered pretty safe... at the moment. Probably because their casual attitude to IS fighters travelling through the country is enabling so many people to get into Syria, IS won't want to risk this...

Weather & Technical Diversions, Delays & Cancellations

Any more details on that Aberdeen diversion for G-JEDT? It landed with full fire service roll-out at Manchester, although no visible issues. As per FR24, it came straight into Manchester and hasn't moved since, so I'm guessing there was something other than weather that caused the issue...

Loving the Antonov pics, are they regulars at the airport? Where do you take your shots from?

    Road, Rail & Access Issues

There are limited Westward connections from Skipton, only infrequent and slow services to Carlisle and Lancaster and none of these trains will be stopping at the new station. Passengers would have to change at Shipley. The main access to the airport would be for passengers arriving into Leeds...

    Route Development & Rumours

Of course a lot of the high train ticket prices come from walk-up travel which is very difficult to match for airlines (even if they offer them, most potential passengers wouldn't consider looking for a next day flight). Advance train fares can be a lot cheaper and comparable to advance...

    Road, Rail & Access Issues

Times for Apperley Bridge station for the first weekday of operation: http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/search/ ... &order=wtt Only the 0718 off Skipton will stop going into Leeds during the morning peak and none of the Skipton bound services until after 8pm, so it shouldn't affect crowding on...

Info Request Airband Scanner (Which one's best....?)

Any new developments in this field. Looking for a scanner around £100 for Christmas. Happy to go re-conditioned, but could someone point me in the best direction to source one of these. Thanks.
