Thomas Cook in £750m rescue deal talks
"Troubled travel company Thomas Cook is in £750m rescue talks with banks and its largest shareholder, Fosun. The measures, which have not been finalised, would see the Chinese investor buy the firm's tour business. Thomas Cook's chief executive, Peter...
Not sure if this is what you saw, but I just had a look on FR24 playback and there was a Cathay Pacific flight (CX219) from Hong Kong descending into Manchester at that time, which passed directly over LBA at 9000 feet, heading SW. Might have been that? It was an A350, but at a higher altitude...
Just heard what sounded like a large jet flying over Headingley at 10:05 (nothing unusual there) but could see nothing nearby on FR24 or ADSB, and nothing on the LBA departures board that corresponds... FR2326 to PMI (airbourne 09:56) was already well out of the way by that time so it wasn't...
Interestingly enough I've just seen the same flight operating in the opposite direction as it headed NW over Headingley and Cookridge, on its way up to NCL...
Just had a quick look using the FR24 'playback' feature, and the only aircraft I can see that matches your description is Emirates flight EK36 from Newcastle to Dubai, operated by a Boeing 777. (See here: https://fr24.com/2018-07-10/13:26/12x/UAE36/1d132a66)
Hi, long-time lurker / first-time poster here. Anyone know why Ryanair flight FR4108 from Wroclaw has diverted to Manchester this evening? I thought I heard something loud flying overhead earlier (i.e. louder than usual - I'm used to the sound of planes flying over the house), had a look on...
Re: Movements Log & Heads Up
I think I saw this as well - I was up by the LGI and saw an all white plane coming in around that time at a bit of a funny angle... I see a lot of the planes landing from where I work, so I'm used to the heading they all take, but this one seemed to be approaching...
Just this moment seen a Chinook flying in the direction of LBA... Anyone knows what that's about? Don't think I've ever seen one of those in real life before!
Re: Movements Log & Heads Up
Ah, yeah I saw that coming in to land and didn't think it looked familiar. I knew that someone on here would know the answer :)
Re: Movements Log & Heads Up
Ah, yeah that confused me earlier, I saw it coming in to land over the city centre and assumed it was the PIA flight, and then when I got home I saw that the PIA flight wasn't due until about 23:00. I guess they must have a lot of passengers stranded in various...
Re: Movements Log & Heads Up
So do airlines like BA temporarily fly their passengers around in planes with the Jet2 livery, or do Jet2 have a number of plain planes (if you'll pardon the pun) available for charter use without the Jet2 logo painted all over them?
I should quite clearly be asleep right now (it's far too late!), but carrying on the theme of age/reliability, if I've been reading correctly from planespotters.net, it would actually appear that PIA's A310s are, on average, actually a few years younger than a lot of Jet2's 737s... I just...
