    Leeds Bradford - General Thread

When it is busy you will have up 5 buses operating, you wouldn’t think it though but the buses do literally just appear out of the woodwork. Two will be driven by swissport and the others by airport operations, between them they will work out who is going to who, with it worked on a first come...

Airport Security, Immigration & Border Control

Isn’t the security operated in House?. If so could the sound of changes to contracts mean they could be outsourcing security or is it personal changes to the employee contracts?

    Monarch Airlines

Think anyone who works for swissport at the moment, who is on a temporary contract will find it hard to either be made permanent, or have their contracted extended, Now with the demise of monarch. Such a shame it really is.

    Monarch Airlines

Such a sad day it is. My first ever flight was with monarch to barcelona. Always a great airline to fly with. Was reading the CAA page and it listed the parts of the company that have seized trading, but doesn’t list the engineering side, does this mean MAEL will continue?

    Runways, Aprons and Taxiways

Don't know if this has been mentioned elsewhere but today whilst up at the airport I noticed today that 757 landing on 32 were having to backtrack to taxiway Delta. Is there something wrong with Taxiway November? Was just a little unusual to see this.

Airport Security, Immigration & Border Control

I think it's just picks at random on who's to go through the full body scanner. Previously it would bleep at random but now is not the case but instead people are picked at random to determine whom is to receive a full scan. Could be wrong but just a thought.

Here's a thought, even if we could accommodate this large aircraft, would the bridged part of the runway be able to handle such a heavy load or would it need adjustments made to it to handle such weight?

    Loganair

Find it ironic when I loaded up this thread, it popped up an advert advertising loganair services from other airports. I did say this in another thread somewhere in which an airline may decide not to fly from LBA due to the choice of ground handling services. With jet2 only handling their own...

Don't have any pictures but the ceiling is now in downstairs, you can see them some of the main support beams and some wiring so it would appear it needs completing off but the basics are in.

    Leeds Bradford - General Thread

Recently a few of the flights departing late has been down to Air Traffic Control and slots. Due to how busy airspace is at the moment some flights, even though fully boarded and on time for departure, are having to wait 30 minutes, an hour or even in some cases 90 minutes due to ATC slots. Not...

    TUI Airways

They were parking up some of the Jet2 757s on the taxiways the other day, so it probably would have to go there too!

We should all chip together buy a couple of small turboprop aircraft, ATR42 perhaps?, and set up our own airline.

The smiley face podiums are still in use white heather, one is just before security to ask customers about there experience in check in, and the other after security, about the security experience.

Retail, Food & Drink Outlets Thread

If greggs were at the airport now they probably end up making a mint, especially if they did there bacon sarnie and coffee for £2 offer! Know I would use the facility for sure

    Future Infrastructure Developments

Here's an idea of which gates are used for what: Gate 1 & 2 are short walks downstairs to the aircraft. Gate 3 & 4 are normally air bridges. Gate 5 (next to gate 4 upstairs) is a walk down stairs into walkway but isn't a far walk Gate 6 is primarily buses to remote stands Gate 7 & 8 are...

if you somehow forget to book assistance in advance you can always ask at check in on the day to see if they can accommodate you. It isn't always guaranteed if the assistance team can accept any on the day assistance customers but there is no harm in trying, after all they do say if you don't...

Along with the baggage hall immigration should surely be one to look at. Six desks is no where enough during busy periods, especially when the queues are halfway across the other side of the airport.

Weather & Technical Diversions, Delays & Cancellations

It would appear this evening jet2.com flight LS372 from Las Palmas is delayed due to what looks likely to be a technical issue. G-CELA took off around 90 minutes ago from alicante bound for las palmas to bring the customers out there home.
