Am I being naive? I just cant believe a brand spanking new, environmentally friendly terminal will be refused. It's a darn 'green' terminal so I just dont understand why they are even objecting.

Yep, when I noticed that plastic straws had been banned in the UK today due to environmental concerns it just seemed to symbolise the irrelevance of how these groups operate and what we are up against for the terminal development.

I cant stress how important this development is. It's not a nice to have, its critical that it happens. United and American have just cut 32,000 jobs including 2, 000 pilots. We must support the aviation sector in any way we can.

When will we know? Did they vote during this meeting? I feel as if I'm living in an alternative universe at the moment. I may be being naive but I just cant believe they'd reject it.

Nobody in their right mind would reject this infrastructure development at a time like this. I'm not sure why it's taken so long to decide. We need certainty of future and jobs.

In fairness I'm pleased for Doncaster, good news across Yorkshire benefits the whole of the sector and means that people who may have lost their jobs in Leeds can commute to Doncaster rather than leave the business altogether.

I work in aviation so we hear a little and read a lot. It's our jobs not an informed interest.

If it's not related them we might as well.disregard the lengthy consultant's report and extended planning consultation period. Remember it's the airport who decided to include this report in terms of the planning process. So the debate is relevant because the airport's projections of pax numbers...

It's related because the whole modelling for the latest planning submission is based on recovery post covid and projections around this. The report says recovery could be in 2 years.

Hmmm I think that's the stance Trump is taking in America. Maybe herd immunity will work this time and not overwhelm the NHS ...survival of the fittest comes to the fore....not the most ethical stance and some would say if you are over a certain age or have underlying health conditions it's...

Yep.but all these projections are based on a vaccine coming in asap and effective track and tracing. China managed it because they literally dragged people out of buildings into quarantine to contain the situation..I'm not sure that would work in a Democracy.

Completely agree Aviador...but have you seen one report from any analyst (financial or aviation) that the recovery will take less than 5 years? And if the main airlines are also advising on this timeline for their expected return to pre covid levels ( and basing their business models/leasing...

Ok I've managed to plough through the report....good stuff...and overwhelmingly positive. It states lba will be back to normal in 2 to 4 years pax wise...I guess this modelling is based on the assumption that a vaccine is available for mass use by early 2021. The figures are also a lot more...

I tried to read the report but it's not really consumer friendly. I understand the need for the detailed information but it's not an easy read. I think our lovely ( non technical councillors) will switch off after page 1.
