Flew down on the 1425 to Heathrow last Friday 07/07/17, quite a full plane - I heard the cabin assistant say 123 + 2 on board, back on Sunday's 1730 "evening" flight again pretty much full. On time both ways, spotless cabin, and at £92 return with a 23 kilo cabin bag allowance, the flight was...

Airport Consultative Committee [Questions & Responses]

Heathrow Terminal 5 uses small driverless pneumatic tyred trains to ferry passengers between the main terminal and the B and C satellites in a tunnel, and a similar train is used to move passengers around the terminals above ground at Dallas Fort Worth - the gradient would be no problem for...

Quite so Snowman. On recent flights, I had been "protected" from the typical arrivals experience by being on the BA Shuttle, which as far as I know always uses an airbridge, thus disembarking passengers at 1st floor level. The Airport must make provision of escalators and lifts a top priority...

    What services you are using?

short break to Malta - flew out Sunday 04/12/2016 on brand new EI-FTE returning on 07/12/2016 on older EI-EST, on way out I'd estimate about 120 passengers, returning home much fuller. I have to say the comfort of the slimline seating and subtle lighting system (not to mention a much less garish...

Think the Caledonian may have been doing one of the Spanish Islands, The Air UK also did EDI after the F27's and prior to Gill Air taking over the route.

    Road, Rail & Access Issues

For what it's worth, I understand only the Bradford FS-Leeds shuttle service will call at the new stations, providing a 30 minute service frequency. Trains from Skipton and Beyond (and in the case of Kirkstall Forge, trains from Ilkley) will not stop at the new stations in either direction.

I was on a packed BA1344 up to Leeds last Sunday evening. Purser confirmed just about a full house. - Great flight by BA, OK, so it was an hour late departing following a delay to the inbound aircraft operating the flight, but we had a spirited dash up to Leeds - I'm becoming increasingly...

    Future Infrastructure Developments

I’m just daydreaming here, and not for one moment do I ever expect this to happen, but it struck me that with considerable vision and plenty of money, the former AVRO Building (now LBA Industrial Estate I think) could be made into the most amazing terminal. The "valley" between the AVRO and...

I've just Booked for 13 Nov - LBA to Orange County, CA (SNA) using BA to London, then on with BA to Dallas (DFW) with American Airlines codeshare connection to SNA, return via same routing 02 Dec. I've taken the precaution of flying to LHR on the afternoon flight day before the transatlantic...

    Visiting aircraft of the past

Very interesting post GolfFox and welcome to the forum. In the years soon after completion of the Runway 32 extension it was delight to see (and hear) the wonderful JAT 707's and their smaller 727 sisters (In my opinion the two best looking subsonic airliners ever built), along with 747's...
