I still can't work out exactly where this is.

Is it the area where the escalators used to be along with a refurb of the old toilets?

Yes, that’s correct. This new area (wider passageway) runs from the area which was at the top of the old escalators and glass lifts which were outside the old lounges through what was the old lounges to the new building. The toilets are effectively the old toilets which were between the lounges and the Saltaire bar but have been completely renovated. The area is still very much hoarded off but it will be good to see the other areas open up. The new Starbucks is due to open on the 16th July, I’m not sure when the new WHSmiths in this area is due to open.

In that case, am I right in thinking this will replace the temporary "rabbit run" between the old building and the new building?

Not to get bogged down in the detail, but it seems nobody really thinks anything through...

Either the exit is at the end on the right, meaning if someone is drying their hands on the right they block the entry/exit...

Or the exit is behind the photographer meaning the flow is all wrong (walking away from the exit to dry hands, making it unnecessarily congested).

Small things but show any lack of thought to the user experience.

Yes if that is how it is I agree. I flagged the entire design of the building the first time around because the passenger flow was going to lead all international arriving passengers to go back on the flow, Thankfully this was spotted after the airport decided to revisit the plans after the new terminal plans were shelved. I agree it is something they need to do better. It's fairly basic stuff but in this particular case, there could've been a cost saving or time saving reason for the developers. New wiring to the opposite side for example? Are you sure the exit isn't at the right side at the end there though?

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours

I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
