It certainly will have an effect on easyjet operations with an initial start up of 6 aircraft that could rise rapidly to 12-15 etc over a short period (slot restrictions allowing)
This mornings announcement most certainly makes SOU the likely destination for the next easyJet base. With Jet2 eroding orange market share at LGW, they will want to substitute this somewhat elsewhere in the south and at the same time direct Jet2 business away from BOH. Common sense really!
Majorca has probably reached saturation point, still incredibly popular but fully exhausted, same being said for Turkey. Greece and North Africa are in demand destinations!

AGS are spending a huge sum of money on SOU over the next few months to improve amongst other things the departure lounge. This will be extended, possibly over stand 6, although other options are still on the table. One would imagine that the new Starbucks will operate from the extended...
