Considering they launched Newcastle not so long ago I wonder if LBA could be in with a chance of a route from Norwegian?
I think both OSL and CPH are realistic routes that would benefit LBA, and anecdotally I myself have been across the Pennines twice in the past month to fly to either of these places that I would’ve sooner gone from LBA to

Norway is my home country and as a visitor the best cities to visit in my opinion are Ålesund, Tromsø, Trondheim and Stavanger. Personally for me I find Oslo a bit bland and Bergen way too wet.
I'd imagine though that if LBA were lobbying for a route to Norway Oslo and Bergen would be the favourites.

It would be nice to see CPH back after that rather meagre effort by SAS a few years back!

How many times did that actually operate? Can’t have been many.

Personally I’m surprised LS haven’t jumped on CPH as a city route given how successful U2 are on it from MAN… or perhaps with their increased LBA presence it’s one for them in the future…

Or this could all come to nothing of course and LBA isn’t part of the announcement.

Fingers crossed!

SAS, if I recall correctly, operated for one summer season. Except they didn't really as inexplicably, they didn't operate the flight in the peak summer period when it should by rights have been at its busiest.

Lots of rumours but is the anything really happening? It’s all gone very quiet routes wise.

I honestly thought LBA might have had something big up there sleeve with the opening of the extension, 2 new stands available and now with news that DSA is reopening.

But the silence has been deafening since the public inquiry results went in favour or LCC & GALBA.

I wouldn't get excited about it. They very rarely tell any secrets relating to routes and airlines. Everything is 'commercial in confidence'. The agenda has nothing on it of significance and the CEOs name doesnt appear on it yet again, which is a shame, as he tends to be far more informative than his individual directors who often seem cagey about saying too much when questions are asked.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
