Imagine if Eastern do it as well on an ATR72. 3 operators would be amazing as long as they all make money. I agree though that there is a need for a day return, both ways as things gradually improve.

I would be careful what you wish for. I'm led to believe that BA are extremely upset and view LBA as having encouraged easyJet onto BFS-LBA against them on BHD-LBA. There is a real risk of being left only with four easyJet flights each week to BFS for the long-term future after this, and you have to wonder whether that is really in LBA's interests.

Hardly the case given easyJet have had the slots for this route for a year or more. We knew they might operate it so BA /IAG should too. If they want it all to themselves they will need to do better than 6 flights a week and a guarantee to operate until at least 31st August. If they stop then, we are left with nothing without easyJet. It's called competition!

Apart from that, the Belfast International route serves most of Northern Ireland, not just Belfast itself.

The easyjet route is only 4x weekly and flies to the further away airport in Belfast. BA are doing a flight daily to the closer airport. If people are going to Belfast on buissness or leisure then they would more likely choose to fly to BHD as it’s a lot closer than BFS and convenient. And also to mention that Easyjets route is Summer seasonal so there’s the winter where BA have the route to themselves. So I don’t think BA would be to upset with the competition they face with EZY.

Hopefully BA will continue after Aug 31st as there’s winter that could be done to their advantage.

It really doesn't take much to up set British Airways. We know too well from past experience.

But I'm 100% certain that LBA marketing team would have informed Cityflyer during there discussions over the past week that Easyjet were interested in operating to Belfast Int'l route, especially seen as they had been holding slots for past 12 months.

If am been honest they should be plenty of room for both to successfully operate when the demand picks back up. Especially if one of them either of them was to base an aircraft at LBA or offer multiple daily flights.

Well the way BA have continually dumped on LBA I’ve little sympathy for them, but that said it’s good to see them back. The more the merrier provided the routes are viable.

BA flying to belfast is a whole different ball game though compared to BA to heathrow, heathrow is very much based on slots available and transfer traffic, belfast is not so i have hope, i feel this route will be a success.
Think iv mixed up the room too talking about BA in the easy room, but best of luck to them both.

There were comments and some consternation that LBA hadn't bothered to issue a press release with regard to the BA Cityflyer ops to Belfast City, or easyJet to Belfast International.
This is because LBA worked in conjunction with both airlines on the issue of a single press release and indeed, LBA were quoted within them. There was therefore no need to issue a separate LBA press release covering the same ground.

Will be great to see easyjet back on Friday! And on the Arrivals/departures board.

I’ve noticed different flight times for the first 2 Fridays (9th and 16th July) the flight arrives 18:10 and departs at 19:05 from the 23rd it will arrive/depart at the times @lbaspotter has put on his post.

It appears on the LBA website, but is showing operated by Sun Air of Scandinavian .

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
