Cardiff: Jet2 Flights, New Routes & Schedule Updates

Use this prefix for new threads for Cardiff Airport
It emanates from this website. It's a Wiki site that anyone can edit and apparently has been subject to silliness in the past. The timescale alone (Q1next year) is difficult to believe.

Ah i see so could be someone messing about!
Both brs and cwl? Well you never know, leaving it a bit late for s19
It wouldn't neccesarily have to be one or the other. TUI and Thomas Cook are proof of that and I'd also thought any announcement at that time of year would be for winter 2019 or summer 2020.

I also read the WIKI page, so I Checked the Jet2 careers site, no mention of either airport there.

It's bravo sierra.

I mean BCN as another base considering the bases abroad are so far PMI and ALC (two of the busiest by weekly departures).

Believing is seeing. I don't believe till i see.

Just like Wikipedia, that site for pilots anyone can edit. I could tell you they are going to order 25 787's. There not but i could post it there. Oh and if you look on that note - it states they are acquriting 2 757-300 from Condor. I rest my case.

Good point jerry, incidentally does brs have any spare stands?
I believe yes and they are building more.
Yes they are. Three were built a couple of years ago, one more last year and two more this winter, with another two for summer 20. Also building 320/738 stands on the south side (ga/biz jet/shuttle flights etc area).

West Country is BRS to me, not CWL.. so why is it in this thread? Not fair building people’s hopes up if it’s not going to be true!

I'd be surprised if Jet2 launched CWL or BRS for Summer 2020. Big gap at Manchester to fill let alone other airlines. If the airport was able to pull a Jet2 base off it would be one hell of a coup!

CWL or BRS not explicitly mentioned, but implicitly.

Nothing to get excited about yet, but something worth keeping an avid eye on.

The UK as an entity has some rather large capacity gaps to be filled, CWL is top of that tree by percentage passenger loss due to the loss of TCX, but low in terms of figure.

Unfortunately, i’m not involved with the same circles as i have been previously, but just putting two and two together ... And possibly getting three !

Although I would love Jet2 to come to Cardiff, I suppose my fear is that they will do an Easyjet and place themselves at Bristol and just attract people from southern Wales there.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?

I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
